As you may have already heard, we’re expecting – a new Birth Center! It’s an exciting time for the Midwives, physicians and staff of Comprehensive Women’s Health, and we are looking forward to offering our same high-quality care in a brand-new, state of the art facility. The Birth Center is set to open in Fall of 2018, and will be located at 724 NW 43rd Street. The new Comprehensive Women’s Health offices will be located next door and are set to open shortly after the Birth Center.
We chose to relocate our offices and build a freestanding birth center to better serve our patients and the greater Gainesville community. Along with continuing our current midwifery, gynecology, and obstetric services, we will also begin offering a range of classes and events open to everyone in the community! These events and classes will take place in our new Community Room, which will allow us to have a dedicated space for a variety of classes for everyone – from babysitting and CPR classes to parenting prep to menopause management and beyond!
Another exciting feature of the Birth Center are the new, state-of-the-art birthing suites. The new suites are designed with you and your family in mind – they will be spacious and feel more like you are in the comfort of your own home, while still offering the safety of having your midwife and nurses nearby.
Our new suites also allow us to offer the option of a water birth! The rooms at the Birth Center will include a large tub (about the size of one you would find in the master bathroom of your home). We are looking forward to being able to offer this option to our patients!
The new location also allows us to improve parking. Our patients and visitors will no longer have to navigate a tight parking garage – making your prenatal visits and routine checkups even easier.
Keep an eye on our Facebook page over the next few months for updates, photos, and more! If you have questions about our new location, or if you’d like to schedule an appointment with one of our midwives to learn how you can deliver at the Birth Center, give us a call at 352-332-7222. We can’t wait to see you at the Birth Center this fall!
